I’m a Design Major at Otago University. I really wanted to do this blog because I am tired of the same old boring stuff about sustainability!! Like, I love the planet y’all, if I could give it a big hug, I would, but I don’t wanna talk and think about it 24/7. It used to be cool – rain forests, whales, planeteers, throwing red paint on fur coats, Arbor Day… what happened? Now it’s all negativity and frowning and finger pointing. I wanted to put the ‘cool’ back in global warming, the ‘rad’ back in radical climate change, the ‘ability’ back in sustainability – no more talking and whining, just A-C-T-I-O-N.

Kavi

Kavi is a born cynic in his first year of a Masters of Science Communication at the University of Otago. His research involves looking at how climate change is talked about in the news media, and how this perhaps influences public attitudes and associated policy issues. Kavi writes a tounge-in-cheek column on gender issues for the Univeristy of Otago student magazine Critic and is a lab demonstrator for Zoology. He enjoys words, music and a wide variety of cheeses.
